Anyone know anything about them....specs look great but I don't have a lot of experience with Alpine other than HUs. Got a guy offering to trade me one to build him a box. Are their RMS ratings pretty accurate? Good SQ? Thanks

 

the type x's are bad ***. I had two type r's at one time and my brother had one x and i sware his was louder. However I think the kicker CVX's are slightly better but if you can get a deal on a type x take it.

 

I have a type R, i wish i had a type X hahaha, the type X is a great subwoofer, great sound. Just too expensive, i got my type R's for soo cheap cause my buddy worked at an audio video place, and at the time the type X's were still way too expensive, even at cost... if i could go back, i would have gottend type X's....

 

I wanted the type X but alpine makes great subs in general! i honestly just took out im 12" type R because it was too much bass for my country music! haha
