amp ground wire location

amp ground wire location

so i am getting my amp today or so that's what the tracking number says. i have it planned out to have to amp mounted to the back wall of my extra cab. my question is were should i hook up the ground wire. i have already removed the pull out seat behind the driver seat to fit the sub in.

You can pretty much ground it to anywhere on your frame. Just get one of those self-tapping sheet metal screws and go to town wherever its convenient to the amp placement.

find a spot in the carpet u can slip a wire under and ground it to the body.

if you run it to the passenger side theres a good sized factory grounding point to the frame. no need to drill holes.

make sure you sand any paint or coating off of your ground location, the metal needs to be bare and shiny to make good contact.

ES894x4 that would make my ground wire almost 5 feet long and I'm pretty sure that's not a good thing.

but would it make a difference if i ran the ground to the body floor and had it bolted down and then run another ground wire from under the body to the frame. and have the two wires connected by a bolt through the body

A body ground will do. Just make sure it's a good clean ground.
