Big Audio Question!

I have a 04 Supercab F150. I want to keep the stock 6 cd changer thats in dash, however I want to run 4 Infinity Kappa 682.7cf 6x8's (Linky). So I need to run an external amp for them. I was thinking since the speakers are 100RMS @ 2ohms I would get a 90RMS x 4 @ 2 ohms Infinity Reference 475a 4-channel amplifier (Linky). I also want to run a JL Stealthbox Custom 10" sub inclosure (Linky) which I would also need an amp for. I was looking at an Alpine V Power Mono 500RMS X 1 @ 4 Ohms (Linky). I was also going to get some Street Wires 4 guage kit (Linky - 1 for each amp) and alot of Street Wires 12 guage Speaker wire (linky)

Ok so sorry to make you read all that. Heres my questions, will this beable to hook up to my stock head unit? (I realize you guys dont have F150s so this may be a dumb question) I dont want to change it out because I like the stock look, my steering wheel works through my radio, and I like the 6 CD in dash feature. Also, in order to have all this juice do I need a new alternator or anything? Anything I am missing in this system I would need to get? I dunno much about car audio to be honest, Im an auto tech so I can take the doors apart and do all that, however I never wired an amp or sub or anything like that. I was also wondering do I need a Capacitor? (linky)

yea youll need a 4 channel line out converter which in the five years i have been doing this every 4 channel amp i have hooked up to the stock stereo has sounded like crap compared to an aftermarket radio set up. Then you could use the output from 4 channel amp to the input of the mono amp saving you the trouble of getting another line out converter.

I would never buy anything but rockford fosgate wiring. They pack the most wire into their wiring which even the consumer electronics association has verified. You SHOULDNT need a cap. Since your only using one subwoofer. If you were running 2 subs and that 4 channel amp i would say definately but i think youll be fine.

I also wanted to get a amp for my new door speakers but keep the stock stereo. I went and asked the guys at cartoys and they said they would do it but it wont sound nearly as good as a aftermarket stereo and by doing it I might get motor noise through my speakers (dont know how that would happen but I didnt want to spend the money on an amp and have it happen.)

you wont get alternator whine through a line out converter you get alternator whine by having crappy rca's, bad audio component, crappy ground, bad alternator, bad battery, etc.

and yes it will still sound like crap from a stock stereo
