i really dont see the point in radar detectors. alls ive done is payed attention and havent been busted. i know people that turn them on for their 10 minute drive to school and they get cracked on. plus those things are annoying.

 

I have a detector, it was a gift from some friends. I find it useless. I see the officer w/ my (very poor) eyes well before it so much as squaks. ... Yet it gladly goes nuts whenever I drive past a road crew or shopping center!

 

SWEET RADAR DETECTOR... lol i have the same one, its well worth the money, gotten me out of many tickets and such. ive got great stories about it nailing the police that i could tell..... but i wont
i wish i had a ranger cuz id buy you old HU, simular to the one im thinking of getting

 

I agree that they are kinda useless because the cops are starting to use Lasers. And even if you get a laser detector, by the time you can react, the cops already know how fast you are going...

More or less the radar detector was part of a promotion with the radio and xm deal I got. Paid 325.00 for everything including shipping and 5 year warranty on radio and install. Couldn't pass it up, but did pass on getting new rims and tires to get this.

i agree with you on the laser thing, all it really tells you is to gun it and find the closest turn of then cut the lights. but in my hick town they dont have lasers so im set with the radar detector and ive only been lasered once and i wasnt speeding

I feel you on that... a 6 disc in dash is nice... really nice... as in alpine and other companys should build a few... maybe a 12 disc O_O. I will hate giving up my 6 disc in dash, so im getting a music keg, and a 12 disc changer. I got a too good to pass up deal on an 2005 Kenwood head unit that hooks up to the trucks computer somehow and shows the g force when i would be going around a corner.

And IMO a Valentine 1 is the best Lazer detection system in the world.

 

no kidding thats why i got a FM modulated 12 disk mp3 changer so i can have the best of both worlds XM really doesnt do it for me since i can just download music and burn it to a mp3 cd for free

 

Is that a protective case for the detatchable face? B/C i got a new pioneer HU and my friend got the same one and he said it was in the box...?

Does anyone know where to get one of those?

 

I find radar detectors are quite nice... Makes my job easier, by the time the lights go on, the person is already pulled over...

I'm not even going to touch the scrambler spot...
