Scrambler82 ask about a perticular picture of my sound system.



Rangers are small and we need to take advantage of every little free space that we can find. I needed an amp for my Center Channel Speaker but finding a place to put it was a challenge. When I reallized how much room was behind that Kick Panel, it was on.

First I built the frame for the amp. Its just MDF, glue and staples. Tha Amp actually mounts on the frame in this set up.


Remember that the amp has to fit in the Kick Panel. Check and double check.


Next, I only cut enough of the kick panel to get the frame in place. At this point, take your time. Trim as little as possible, we want a tight fit.


Then we glue the frame to the Kick Panel. I used epoxy (and not the 5-minute stuff) and after it set up for 24-hours, then I reinforced it with fiberglass.


Finally, I cut the rest of the Kick Panel and did some body work



This is one of many trial fits. Seriously, you cannot trial fit enough. I found that I had to move only one body ground, which was no problem

As for the fuses you more than likely wouldn't be driving a center speaker, or any mids/highs hard enough to blow any fuses.

 

You are 100% right. That amp is bridged mono to drive one 6-1/2-inch Polk Audio mid-bass driver. The speaker is rated at 60-watts RMS, the amp is 180-watts RMS mono. So my gain is only about 1/2 way up.

Also this set up is nearly 8-years old and I have only had to pull out the amp once to replace an RCA cable and that was 6 or 7 years ago.
