For all the people calling it stupid, STFU already, it's built for a purpose and that is competition. That guy in on a audio forum of mine and he built it to compete, not daily listen to. So if you don't know what you're talking about, and are only assuming you have any clue, then shut up and keep to yourself. If you don't like it, fine, move on, no one here is bashing any of your "hobbies" because it's a "waste of time, money, talent etc."

By the way, for all you haters, his vehicle has been stripped of that system, and has plans to compete with 24 15's now. Want to make more comments about how stupid that is too?

 

sure, 24 15" subs... to do what? make noise? I dont understand sound competitions. I have 1 12" in my truck and it gives me good sounding bass that i can listen to every day. Why would you pour that much money into the trucks sound system and not even listen to it every day.

Exactly. To make noise. That's how you win competitions. Why can't you people understand that their idea of a daily driver may not be the same as yours? Quit being biased.

It's a sound competition. Who's got the most SPL? Just like any other car competition he's in it to win it.

 

The Competition seems kinda redundant if you think about it. the first two guys will deafen the judges, than the last two guys wont win :P the whole object of the competition is to blow out your windows, dause severe permanant damage to your ears, and to make your batteries dead so you have to push that pile off the comp floor. but its ok, ill be there with my lift tires and straps to help pull him out

not really, considering the judges dont use their ears to judge the DB level. they use a mic. and a lot of competition stereo systems are built just to hit ONCE.

 

lol.. spl competitions use mic's... it would be impossible to determine a winner by ear. busting windows has nothing to do with the competition. hell... if you look at some of the more extreme systems out there, the windows have been replaced with stronger material to help stiffen the entire car. as for the damage... they're called ear plugs, lol.


yeah it may seem pointless to some people out there, but as everyone else has said.... it's not for everyone. people compete in all sorts of ways. claiming it's stupid and is a waste of money/time can be said about any competition out there. hell.... what's the point in dumping money into a suspension for offroading competitions.... all you're doing is climbing over rocks or going up dirt hills or playing in the mud... what a waste of time and money, right?

 

I didnt say the competition was stupid...just that i think it is stupid to pour that much money in it and you cant even listen to and enjoy music. I cant understand how somebody could build up a system just to hear one note, every once in a while.

Most of my Opinions are argumental. and im sorry, BUT! i usually do it out of humor. so dont ever get too offended.

racing isnt about money dumped into the truck. two identical trucks with two different drivers creates mixed results. THATS what racing or sport rock crawling is about. taking something and honing your skills. making something so friggin loud it's useless is dumb, it's like all the stupid _CRAP_ impalas with "Low Low's" with 10 inch rims doing hydraulics comititions.<--Also stupid.

If you dont like offroading its probably not your thing. and so sound systems, to me isnt the next thing id turn to but hey, if its what makes ya happy. to me. thats offroading. when i see pictures of trucks on hillsides with NOTTA DAMN THING but mountaings and clouds. i get a kind of peacefull feeling. being there yourself is something all in itself. now explain to me how a sound system competition is anything like offroading?

before i respond, i'd like to clarify that i myself don't compete... and don't care for spl at all. in fact the sub box i'm building right now is very restricted for my own personal preference.


you've missed the point completely. you've stated you have no desire or no interest in sound competitons. that's fine. it's ignorant of you to state that they're dumb or that they're a complete waste because so.
not a fact at all.. only an opinion
again... lack of interest in the subject is exactly why you find no sence of accomplishment in sound competitions. many many people take pride in those competitions, and the hard work they've put into their vehicles to prepare for such.
this just supported my point. if you have an interest in the subject, the worth is obvious to you. sound competitions isnt about the money dumped into the systems either. besides purchasing the equipment, money has nothing to do with it. (same goes for offroading, right?) there is a ton of math, labor, and tweeking constantly going on. change one little variable at any moment, and you'll have yourself a huge mess. i can GARUNTEE that if i were to go ahead and give you the same exact equipement used in the loudest car in the world, you would successfully fail at attempting to match it's record.. let alone come close to it at all. there's a lot behind these competitions that you just don't see.

agian.. only an opinion.

first... offroading is fun. i just mentioned it for arguements sake

however... you just explained that it gives you good feelings, and you enjoy it. many will tell you it's stupid... there's no point. at the end of the day, nothing productive came of it. those people are wrong, aren't they?? you know you got a certain worth out of it, and that's something those people obviously don't see. same goes for you when looking at sound competitions.
