Distance between rear seats for sub box?

I hate to ask this question but I am at school (college) and do not have a tape measurer and I need to know the distance between the rear seats when their folded up. Also the measurement of the small "shelf", if you will let me call it that, where the jack sits on between the seats.
I currently have a massive box with 2 12's in it, but I want to be able to use my seats again for a trip to boston. I found this box on bestbuy:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1204924953396

It is a shallow mount box, so I will have to find a shallow mount sub too, and my power accoustics have a huge magnets so I will probably get rid of my box and subs.
Says that the box is 25" long, and 8 1/2" deep. I want to take out the jack and plastic cover/cup holder thing and put it there. Will this work? I just need to know the meausurments.

Has anyone used shallow mount subs? Any good? Or not worth it?

I was also thinking about just ditching the dual box and using my same sub (just one) and same amp, amp output is 580W RMS bridged, and sub is 500W RMS, and just buy a ported box.
When I had this same set up (sealed box) in my celica my system was crazy, it "BUMPED"!!! but when I threw it in my truck, it sounds nothing like it did before. I think its because there was all that space in the trunk for the bass to bump around in and the bass caried out like: Babooooooooooooooooooom, now its just like Baboom bop, So I think to get a good bass sound that carrys out I need a ported box right?

What about this one?

I dont know how it will fit though. But If I go down to one box than I can still use at least one of my seats in the back., I just dont know if the front seat will be able to recline.

I'm not quite sure on the distance right off the top of my head. I have two 12 inch MTX subs in a box that fits perfectly behind the seats.

That "shelf," is about 7 inches deep. That box will be sticking out a bit.

1 lighting audio 12. now the jump seat is down and the sub is on top of the seat, so i have room from books underneath. bumps hard enough. shakes my mirrors a little too much sometimes.

i had 2 12" duals in a ported box back there. i could still TECHNICALLY have someone sit in the seat behind me, but it was a *****. so i ditched them for the single 12

Nice, I think that's what I will do just throw one my current subs into a single box and put it behind the seat like that, and Ill just bridge my amp to it. I have my amp mounted against the back wall where the seat went, I will take it off and put the seat back in, where's your amp under the seat? How did you mount it to the floor? And what size is that box and is there still plenty of room up front?

yes my amp is under the seat. i didnt bolt it down or anything.. it doesnt move around. i have no idea what size the box is and what's nice about having it there is you can put the seat all the way back and lay it all the way downa nd not have anything get in your way. it fits perfect. not to mention i can un plug it if i HAVE to use my seats
