Does anyone else have this radio...

Pioneer
DEH-P5100UB

I currently have a Pioneer DEH-4900 with the Ipod connect even though someone stole my ipod cord... I have the 4 year best buy extended warranty and my 4 years will be up in may so i know of a way to get a new head unit... Warranty is sweet glory.... Sometimes the face cuts off and sometime it wont let me control volume. Now they say they will repair or replace so i will also be throwing in the whole it scratches my cds thing (which i know they cant fix so they will give me a credit = to what i paid for the radio and a credit for the remainder of the warranty...

So its upgrade time and i was wondering what people thought of that radio

Very very minor trimming to the bezel and they fit like a glove. I thought about it this way. Why spend money on a couple different single dins when they stop working or I quit liking them, when I could just save longer and spend the money up front and get something that I really want(ed). Didn't you get your nav stolen along with some of the other things?

Look up the how-to on here Ben. The pieces you have to trim are two lips on the bezel. One at the top of the radio opening and one at the bottom of it. Takes maybe ~5 minutes to do the trimming and about another 5 to put in the headunit. Wiring the harnesses may take about 20-30 minutes.

Can someone explain the difference between a double din and a single din.

I read threads like this and have no idea what I am reading.

A single din is the standard size of a head unit, and a double din is twice as large. Double dins are good for vehicles that have large stock head units like the Ranger.

Single din:
