I never heard of it either, it works good and it's new, there are a lot of descent prices on eq's, I just would be scared to buy a used one for that price even though it is a Pioneer.

You've got more control over what you're listening to by adding in an external eq. I did the same thing, and now I can stop my doors from rattling.

No HU has any decent eq adjustments unless you spend alot of $$$$. I wouldn't mess with the eq in the post, it seems cheap and old and used, not saying it wouldn't work for what you're looking it to work for. An eq will always help out with the sound quality and a more equally balanced frequency curve, if tuned properly, which is hard to do.
I'd go with a better one, if you're set on spending only what this one costs then go with this or a similar one.
Pioneer makes a 1-din eq that looks like it would work real well, but it's around 200$ or more on onlinecarstereo.com.

here you go, man... Etronics, good stuff, fast shipping, but the DHL guy isn't as nice as the FedEx guy...lol. And you can get a 2 year warranty for 20 bucks.

The more $$ is the best choice.
