Factory Radio - Exchange 2010

2010 Ranger XL. Standard radio.

Can the optional radio with CD/Satellite radio be exchanged? Is this possible? Is this plug and play?

Or is the main wiring to the standard radio not compatible with the optional Satellite radio?

Used radio with satellite would come out of a 2010 Ranger.

I believe it is plug-n-play but you would need to put up a satellite antenna. I could be wrong but someone who knows more than me should chime in shortly. If it were me, it would go aftermarket.

Thank you.

I do appreciate those with aftermarket. And I have done some in past.

Presently, I prefer the factory look and feel.

I think it actually runs off the normal antenna wire. Could be wrong though. You could just wire the connector in you house, plug the new addapter into the old one and connect the antenna wire and see if it works.

My 2011 has the MP3/SAT radio in it. Was planning on swapping it with a double din stereo but not sure if it's going to fit. I'll be taking the factory stereo out tonight to test fit my roommate's double din stereo. I know my truck has a standard antenna on the fender then a sat radio antenna on the roof. I'll check and see if that antenna plugs into the back of the factory stereo seperately. If not then I'm going to say that the swap won't work as the sat radio might be a seperate unit. If it is I'm not sure how to make that work.
