the suicide door speaker on the passenger side finally blew out

i am looking to replace the rear door speakers with sub woofers

looking for a good pair with minimum 40 ounce magnets ( 60 ounce is preferred )

nothing too expensive but less than $200.00 a pair

My buddy had some 6.5" JLs, but I think those are going going to run more like $300 a pair. Not sure how many companies make a 6.5, I know kicker makes a 6.75 if you want to do some cutting. Those should be around $200 a pair.

Out of curiosity, what is your current audio setup right now?

i purchased some 5 x7 pyle 3 way`s for the front doors , but found out that the bass output is bad

i found some adapter plates , but need a somewhat good sub woofer

i am not into loud booming audio , i just like some good bass output with the music i listen to

 

found some american bass 6.5`s for a good price

I would go with the American Bass XD. I've actually heard good things about them, and they are about half the price of the JLs.

Then again If you get the value madden's you're only out $30, might as well try them. But my guess is you will have to replace them in the near future. In my experience, cheap items do not play well with car audio setups.

 

check over at crutchfield or sonicelectronix, they usually have a good selection of subs, not sure how many 6"+/- subs they'll have though

parts express also has some options made by Tang Band for 6.5", but they are generally lower quality speakers with poor quality control. it's like buying stuff from the dollar store. sometimes you're surprised it works so well, other times, you shouldn't be surprised that you got what you paid for.

also keep in mind that simply slapping a sub in there isn't a simple answer-- you still need a specifically sized sealed box that matches the subs parameters, or for a ported setup, a tuned port.

subs can only ever sound as good as the box they're put into.
