Jensen DVD/CD Head Unit

So i want to get this flip screen for my truck ....but i was wondering if anyone had it or has heard anything about it before i get it? The reviews all seem to be good and so does the price. the only thing that gets me is that people are saying it doesnt get to loud....i mean 40? i think that might be loud in my old f150 i went to like 80 but i stopped at around 40-45 and my rangers old headunit was loud at 18. So if someone could help me out id appreciate it.

You can always amp the speakers for more sound. I personally like the Avic D3, I've always associated Jensen with cheaper stereo stuff.

You get what you pay for. The reason it 'doesn't go loud' is because it only has 13W RMS per channel. Save your money and buy something better. The higher end units will have better screen clarity too.

ya i was looking at the avic D3 like Trent said and i like that one but it all depends on what i get for my birthday and how much my parents will put in to replace my radio unless they get my alarm or something....but on the jensen i think i might just get it and try it out because crutchfield has a 30 day money back guarentee so if i dont like it i can send it back

I have the dual xdvd710 and its not the most expensive but its not the cheapest either. Its got great sound...50 watts x 4, which was the same as my panasonic...the only downside I have found is that it doesn't have the low pass and hi pass filters. Other than that I love mine..and the bypass is easy too to get the dvd's playing anytime :)

The video quality is great...much better than the phase linear player that a friend of mine has..it is very easy to operate. The ipod works on the screen just as it does on your ipod yourself. The other great thing is it comes with wires to directly hook up a back up camera...ps2(or whatever game system), and of course it has all of your pre outs. Now the one prob. I found was it only has on preout for your sub and of course your amp has a left and a right a/v cable coming out for your sub. Most people said just use a y splitter but this didnt work for me because the sub would still act up when I used the y. SOO what I did was hook the sub cables into the rear amp. pre outs..since there are a left and a right coming out. The only thing you have to do then is use a gain **** for your sub adjustment.
Hope this makes sense.
Im in love w/ mine!

i have the jensen and it is plenty loud for me allthough i do have the loud setting on 1 out of three and rarely see 22 as 20 is pretty loud and for the sub it is only one connection so if you plan on running a sub system i would not reccommend it as i am getting ready to sell mine for a player that will accommodate 4 subs and 3 amps

Stay away from Jensen. There IS a reason why it is sold at Wal-Mart. With the wonderful world of ebay it's simple to get a better name-brand at a MUCH cheaper price. I have the Clarion MAX675VDII and I got it for a steal at $300-$400 on ebay. Keep in mind the msrp of this unit is above $1000.

This unit gives up 75 X4 and has the best IPOD interface (in my opinion). Check it out.

I'd stay away from Dual man... It's Jensens lower line.

A Buddy of mine has the Dual, well I forget the model now because he's sent it back to Dual about 3 times. Each time he sends it back it seems to stay with them longer too. Just my opinion

thats not a bad price on it. i have installed alot of them, had a lot come back for pixels going out, the sub rca thing said above is a common issue, flip out motor gears break. they are nice IF they dont break. get what money you can now out of your parents and save up some for a better unit, it will be worth it in the end. and clarion is award winning for their ipod controler

or...if ya dont wanna spend the money for a touch screen but want a dvd player like i did you could get an in dash reciever w/like a 3" screen. I got the Jensen VM8012 and loved it until the cd drive quit. it worked fine for about 8 months. if i had known it was goin to do this i would have bought another brand.
