I just picked one of these up the other day... so much bass for a computer system. If you dont know what it is...

I had a cool idea for the ranger... get a 500w power invertor(sp?) and mount that under the passenger seat, then take the sub the z-2300 and plug it into the power invertor. if you dont know about the z-2300 it is an 8" sub with 2 satellite speakers. the sub box has a built in amp that puts out 200w rms and 400w peak. the amp plugs into an outlet. then you plug the speakers into the box. you have a **** for the volume and bass control. and that plugs into the box as well. then the whole thing plugs into either an ipod or headphone jack on you computer. so i thought if you take the sub with the built-in amp and everything and plugged it into the power invertor you could have a cheap and easily removable "system". the sub itself puts out 120w plus if you had good door speakers you would have an even better moderate system. that was just an idea that ran threw my head the other day in school. opinions on that? if none of it made sense i can try and clear it up a little. by the way the Z-2300 ran me $110 from circuit city.

heres a video just to show you how it sounds and show you alittle bit of the excursion it has:

I purchased the Logitech X-540 system two years ago on sale and no complaints there. Awesome surround sound and crazy bass for a PC system. Makes watching downloaded movies and music great to play on the PC.

The volume control is connected to the sub via a cable (which is not indicated in the pic for some reason). On the controler are the buttons for the surround sound and power, as well as a headphone jack.
I used a laptop and these speakers to DJ a family Christmas party at a large hall. The sound was awesome, clear, and loud.

For the cost of the Logitech setup and the inverter, you could buy a powered mtx thunderform or a used amp and sub that would sound a lot better.

Just my thoughts.
