Looking for some sound deadening ideas
Mainly to quiet down road noise. I figure the sound people will know what works best.
2 thoughts as of now.
Thought 1- The "Sound deadening paints," a can sells for around $11.
Or go dynamat.
This is not for a high dollar stereo, I just want to quiet down the road noise.

Some have recommended "Peel and Seal" from home depot, which is basically the same thing as dynomat, but at a fraction of the cost. Still haven't been able to locate any personally, but that may be worth looking for...

Actually someone told me that dynamat and the peel and seal stuff are very different. It was a thread on G-E and I don't remember a whole lot, but I remember thinking that I was convinced enough that I wouldn't use the roofing stuff.
Peel & Seal has a ton of oil based goop in it. It's as good as Dynamat, but your car will smell like a gas station. It's available at any roofing suppy company or contractor's supply.
I use a cheaper alternative available at Parts Express.

I did dynamat on all the body panels of the cab. It took about 6 hours to do everything. If I ever get around to it, I'm going to do an underbody coating too. The dynamat took the road noise down to about a normal car's sound level. A friend commented that my truck seemed a lot more solid than theirs. Doing the roof will make the rain quieter when it pings the top of the cab too.
peel and seal is an aspahlt based roofing covering that just so seems to work well as a sound deadener.
www.edesign.com (i think) sells eDEAD cheap. ones a paint and the other is like dynomat. im gunna go with the paint on type as i think it'll work better for my application.
what about good old under coating?

something like foam or fiberglass style i would go with over a roofing tar sealer but thats me. and my trucks mighty quite how silent you want it? with my radio at 1/4 i cant even hear sirens.....
I don't remember exactly how much I used, but I think I bought a trunk kit and a door kit. I used the dynamat extreme on the floor pan and the roof and the regular dynamat on the rest. I applied the dynamat to the outer door skin rather than the inner one. This works a little better. The only thing I didn't take out of the interior is the dash; the reast of the interior was removed for the installation.
Dynomat isn't your only option for damping. I refer you to the king of damping info: http://audioforum.termpro.com/cgi-bi...;f=40;t=008863
peel and seel is about a third of the thickness of dynamat and is about $100 for 90 square feet. i did my truck in that and my doors in dynamat extreme. the dynamat is a better product but peel and seal is priced better. i covered my roof, back wall and floor in 2/3 layers of it. no smells yet and i live in SW Florida.

What about Dead Skin? Like the spray form. I Persoanlly would use Dynomat Extreme everywhere and spray the gaps so i would be "leak" free, and you would gain about 1db which is good for anyone people who just listen to music, bass junkies, to SPL competitors.
here u go man i know the guy who started the comp this **** is awsome! it works soo amazing my whole truck will have it soon http://www.secondskinaudio.com

) Yeah, I'd like to know about how many square feet to cover the entire supercab
