mounting amp under seat of 01 rangerext cab

This has probably been asked before, but am tired of searching. I have read that people have mounted amps under the seats.....ummmmm, how, my truck has a screwed up hump under the seat, the floor pan is not flat. And the rear seat mounts are too close together, I am a machinist so making something isn't a problem, I have already made a mounting plate to get above the seat brackets, but once i mount the bracket and the amp there is not enough room to put the rear seat bolts back in. can't go any higher or there will not be enough clearance between the seat bottom and the amp. Mounting to the back wall really is not an option right now. mounting on the floor behind the seat is definately not an option, any suggestions or a few pics of under the seat mounting would be great.

I thought about that but my 01 doesn't have room behind the jump seat....when the seat is folded up the seat is tight against the cab, not any kind of compartment behind my seat. unless i remove the jump seat, really don't want to do that, they get used occasionally. I think i have a plan, will try to post pics if it works out, but I am still open to other suggestions. thanks

01 edge, looks like you removed the jack and a jumpseat, is this correct?

It's definitely going to depend on your amp. I was able to mount mine on the back side of the hump (it's a pretty flat surface once you look at it), but if you've got an amp with a decent seize footprint, you're going to be SOL as far as getting it under the seat.

I had my amp under my seat for a while. If you can't fit it under the seat, just build a small amp rack or mount it to the box.

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 8530)

Go to your control panel (user cp at the top left of your screen), click "edit signature". Use the image tag (you can just click the little picture frame above the text window if you don't know forum code), and type in the url of the picture you want in your sig.
