My FX4 has the 290w Pioneer stereo. Do I have a center console sub?
I just recently read that Rangers with the Tremor package have a sub in the center console. I've had my truck for nearly 3 years and I've always been impressed with the stereo in it. I thought I was halucinating shortly after I first bought it because I thought there might be a speaker in my console. Is that indeed the case? Or is that center console speaker only in the Tremor?
I do have the full console. That's interesting that they put a sub in there. I guess I never thought of Ford doing that. Although, it does have the premium stereo so maybe it shouldn't surprise me. Learn something new every day.
From what I have read, the sub is actually inside the housing of the console, out of sight. You apparently have to partially remove the console to see/access it. Maybe someone has a pic of it from the process of repairing/upgrading it?
Does the console look any different from the regular ranger console?
it would look like this:

i think the OP just has the 290 watt pioneer system.

This is the interior I have. Although, mine has the light gray leather, dash and lower door panels. Man, that all black interior is SHARP! I wish mine had that. First time I've ever seen that.
why would ford go thru all the trouble of designing this console if they only put it in a few rangers? did they put it in other things as well explorer? sport trac? or did it get more plentiful as the years went on?
because not many people check'd the 290 watt stereo to get that console. in 2008 up here it was an option in the sport, xlt and fx4 trim levels.
it might have been in the sport trac but the newer exploder might have had a different dash all together.

this would be the location of the sub/amp for the tremor package. it's a flat looking carpeted piece that has a pioneer logo on it. i think it also came with a different head unit. the truck looks like a sport or edge truck but has a decal that says "tremor" in a stone style font on the bedsides. it was also only offered for a year or two, somewhere in the mid y2ks.

I sure do. Not on a regular basis, but maybe once a week or so. I'm in the Eastlake/Willoughby area much more than Mentor though. I lived in Painesville for 22 years before moving to Euclid in 2001.
By the way, over the summer I saw a twin of my truck in Highland Heights, so there is a chance it may have been him. Probably not though.

it was a while ago. maybe not though.
and about the wheels, actually I was thinking of lifting and getting 15x10's (same style wheel) and 33-35s I dunno thats just a pipe dream. wife might kill me.
the wheels would match your two tone perfect though.
