My buddy has a W3 10 inch in his truck, sounds pimpass. I've never heard one till tonight. They're pretty damn sweet.

Fiberglass is a little too difficult for me I think! I've never put together a system before either, so I guess I'm gonna keep it simple for now. I'd love to see your box when it's done though!

what's the plan for the Amp? and what Amp are you using?

If you are hiding it in the box how are you planning to keep it cool?

how come you never change your avatar?

where do babies come from?

The amps are going to go on the other side of the truck probably on the floor. I'll probably build a small cover for them to keep them out of site, and possibly use some small computer fans to keep everything cool. I'm using a JL 250/1 amp for the sub and a 300/4 for the speakers.

I'm lazy and don't take many pictures of my truck. And all my photo editing software is gone.

You'll have to ask your mother about that one.

Cover over the amps idea is good, make sure you use a couple of 120mm "quiet" fans or they will be louder than the fans on the amps. I'm sure you know to wire them with a relay and make sure you fuse them.

I didn't notice on the box, but how did you space the screws? I ususally put mine 1"-1.5" apart depending on the measurements.

I think I'm gonna go the fiberglass route, cause I've built plenty of boxes, and I think I'm ready to move up.

I spaced the screws by eye. I put screws that were too big too close together my first run through and the wood split badly. The second time through I used 6 x 2" drywall screws spaced every 2"-2.5". I don't feel that it compromises the strength of the box at all, it's still very very sturdy.

I got some more work done on it today, here are some shots:

TIP: You really should put screws in the corners, I had the corners split open in a cople of my first designs in my mustang, and I finally (with the help of the Team Gates Crew) figured it out... I usually put blocks in the corners and screwed into them, but in your case you might want to predrill the hole with a bit that's slightly bigger than the center of the screw, but only put them about 1" from the edge of the board.

I was avoiding putting screws in the corner because that's where they split the wood before, even predrilling the holes. I may go back and add some though if I feel I can do it without splitting the ends.
