Need help wiring CB radio into 07'
Alright, so I purchased a new cobra CB radio off Amazon last night and now im realizing that I dont know how to run the different cables.
1. Is there somewhere that I can run the power cable through the firewall w/o having to drill?
2. Where is the best place to ground it, the neg term on the battery, or somewhere inside the engine bay, through the carpet plastic flooring to the bare metal??
3. I also bought a cobra magnetic antenna that I'm gonna put on my roof, but I dont want to leave the rear window open in order to run the cable, nor do i want to slam it in the door frame everytime I get in/out. I've heard of running wires through the rear brake light casing into the cab, but also heard that once you touch that setup, you'll forever have leaking problems.
Here is the radio I bought, I didnt want a large unit sitting out that was easily visible to thieves so I went with an "all-in-handset" unit. The reviews were 10 to 1 good to bad and for a first time user, should be more than decent.

Also any pics would be greatly appreciated, especially in regards to running the cables neatly and out of the way.
Thanks guys
Ryan

1. you could always run your cable like me. through your dash into your driver side door jam then into the fender, and bam! its rite near the battery.
1+2. option dos... hook your power and ground to the power and ground wire on your radio. quick and easy, works well.
3.you can get a really good seal just using some RVT gasket maker or a silicone bead. wont leak!

as far as the antenna, if you have extended cab 2 door, under your jumpseats under the plastic cover in the floor is a hole with a rubber grommet to fill it, perfect to run wires through

Would wiring into the back of the cigarette or power outlet render it useless for other things at the same time...or would that over power/burn out the fuse? Also, yes I do have ext cab, any suggestions on how to keep the antenna cable up close to the rear of the cab as I run it up around the window and eventually to the center of the roof?
Any pics of that supossed hole and rubber grommet??
