New System

Well ive started plannin and designin the box for my new system in my truck..

i wanted to go with a wall with 2 15s and go all out and be LOUDDDD..but found out it was to much of a pain for my alternator situation..

so ive decided to go with 12 10s..yes thats right 12 10 inchers..lol

a Rockford Fosgate 2000 watt
2 spair batteries
200 amp relay
200 amp alternator

im goin go the local shop tomorrow they takin measurments for the box design..im takin out jump seats, jackbox, everythin in the back to give me more room..so they will be for sale soon i think..

im really excited bout this next weekend im gettin my dynamat and stripin the truck down..

just wanted to share and hopefully i can get some positive feedback on my idea..

12 10's, ummm, not to be an ***, but that is a complete waste of a truck and money. You have a 4x4 and will never be able to offroad b/c of the system.

I wouldn't even put that in my lil extended cab f-150. Sorry.

so u are going to totally waste all that money on a wall. with 12 10's my friend has 3 15's hitting 162, hes the loudest stock ranger in the world. no use in spending ur money on equipment that everyone has and not doing impressive numbers. find something that actually hits.

if 2 15's were gonna be a strain on the alternator, how are 12 10's gonna do?

wow...thats really retarted....plus you cant run 12 subs off of one amp. not gonna happen.i might be able to see 6 in there on a wall, but there arent enough cubes to put 12 back there. just go for the 15's, its cheaper, u wont have to block ur back window, and u can run 2 15's off of one amp. get another battery, and a dual battery wiring harness, and u wont need a new alternator, it uses the battery as a stiffening capacitor. but if you intend on doing it anyways, good luck

sorry dude dont worry about these guys..^^^^^

but i must say why not spend the money on a really nice system.. like a JL setup or something or eclipse... it would shake your whole interior to hell man and it would be allot of room wasted.... just imo...

I just realized, one 2000 watt amp for 12 10's, how in the world would that ever sound good. Don't do it bro, complete waste of truck, time and money.

the biggest problem i see, is going to be the resistance, youll have to run a few series AND parallel circuits to get the correct resistance to the amp. even then you wont get enough power or youll over heat your amp.

i should note that i am not very experienced in this field, so i could be completely freaking wrong i think michael would be able to explain it best

after pluggin all those subs into a mono amp you would have like .0000000001 ohm that amp would make a genie appear in no time behind its smoke. Get one good sub, pioneer makes their spl series loudest subs on earth they hold the world record.

Rockford Fosgate 2000 Watt..i need 2100 watts but the RF will give off more then 2000..one amp 12 subs..

if i went with 15s then i need 3K watts to much alternator problems and junk..i will be hittin just around the same as i would with 2 15s..

I think its a nice concept but, imo 10's are not worth it. I would go with 12's or 15's. 4 subs, svc 4 ohms would put a 1 ohm load to amp. 500 watts per sub and should hit hard.

macdaddy....162 is not the loudest in the world, theres a ranger that competes here locally with Audiobahns in a lil older ranger, dont kno how many subs he has, but hes pushing around 167, 170 sometimes....if u want quality subs that will pound go with either eclipse titanium pros or 12 or 13" w7's

right it may be a 1 ohm load after 4 of them after that every sub you add will bring that 1 ohm load down lower youll need a true 1 ohm amp that will cost you an arm and a leg and then a really good doctor to make you some hearing aids

which amp are you going to use(model)?? what type of box will they be in? also, which model RE's are you getting? (im assumming you're getting RE's cause you mentioned them. if not, which subs are you using?)

and yeah.. the 2 extra batteries wont do anything for you once the truck is running.. from there its all up to the alternator. if strain on your alternator was worring you, then add a bigger one, or a second one, don't ignore it.

also, like everyone else is mentioning.. just looking at the subs, you're going to create something like a .266 ohm load, your amp will last like a week trying to support that.

Audiobahn and quality dont deserve to belong in the same sentence...

cheap isnt the word...yor buying them directly from RE not from a dealer, paying dealer prices...

its not hard to find a 1 ohm stable amp..Ex. Kicker, Orion, JBL, RF, Diamond,MTX need i name more???

if it does drain my spair batts it will never drain my startin batt so ill be ok..i am upgrading my alternator also so the spair batts will just improve the whole situation..

12 subs seems pointless to me, but to each his own!
