No pause function on the CD6?

This has been bugging me for the last three years. Am I blind and dumb, or is there no pause function on the stock CD6 unit (Please note that it says OR). The only thing I ever find is mute or off. Both of them cause you to miss part of the track.

So, hit off and when you start it back up, "rewind" a little...that's what I used to do

I've noticed the same thing on my 06 Focus, and I'm sure its the same unit, it is kind of a weird thing to leave out.

Yup, no pause feature. I turn mine off when I'm listening to a CD and the phone rings (vs. hitting the mute button while listening to the radio.)

I think Visteon made too many versions of the cd6. My dad's F-250 has one and the "mute" button pauses the cd. Mine in my ranger only mutes the sound but keeps playing. And my mom's escape has the audiophile cd6 and it pauses the song also. Gosh why couldn't they all be the same and all work right all the time?

Except when you use the mute button when playing an mp3 cd it takes forever to get playing again. It's really slow reading mp3 cds ingeneral though...

Whenever i hit mute on the radio and then go to turn it back on, it freezes up and you have to turn the car off then back on again..

now thats a pause button.

You probably have the Single CD "Mach MP3" radio, right? We're talking about the CD6.
