OEM Radio Display

There is a chronic pproblem with the display going out on OEM radio/cd/tape units. The output from a DC to DC power supply circut for the display element is what goes out. The problem is due to cracked solder joints on a shield (which provides a ground connection from one end of the PCB to the other), and resistors which run too hot. Here are some pictures of the circuit:

thanks for the info....my dad has an Explorer radio that works but the display is junk....maybe i can fix it.

A couple of years ago, I repaired two 98/99 Explorer dual media head units with dead displays and they both still work fine. One is in my Ranger.
