Some guy that lives 10 minutes from my house is selling two Rockford fosgate T1's, a dual ported enclosure, and a performance techniques 2000 watt amp for $500. I emailed him and am going to call him pretty soon. His ad was posted on Decmeber 14, so hopefully he still has the subs. His ad says that you can even hear the subs before you buy them, so it sounds promising. Would this even fit in my extended cab?

 

Depends on the box, but I don't see why not.

I decided against paying for that stuff used. I think I am going to go for a single 10 JL w6.

 

ya, but if that stuff works. Buy it and you could sell it for almost twice that. Those subs retail for $400/ea.

 

i dont think you could sell it for 2x that, it isnt a killer system

to original, you look at 2 T1's and then change your mind to 1 10" W6, thats like the the other end of the spectrum, let me ask you why you changed to JL

with JL your are paying for the name, they are great speakers, im not putting them down, just that they are too overpriced, i have countless people i know that think nothing is louder than JL because of the price, i know a guy with 2 W7s, they are loud but not worth the price he paid when i can get other subs for cheaper that can out do them

 

The guy selling the system seemed kind of shady and rude and hasn't called me back so I'm over it.

 

I wasn't looking into those subs at all. I just came across the ad and thought I would give it a shot and try to buy them. All in all they were way to much for my taste and I wasn't thinking about spending $500 on a used system from someone I don't even know.

Right now I am considering the W6v2. My amp is in the optimal power range of it and I have heard nothing but great things about the sub as well as asctually hearing one in an old buddy of mines matrix. It hit plenty hard for my taste. I am open to any opinions as to which sub would compare to the W6 and maybe be a little cheaper! I am also looking at image dynamics ID or IDQ's, eclipse sw6000 or sw7000, JLw3v2, etc.

If anyone can recommend something close to the specs of a W6 that would be great. I only have around 350-400 watts to play with. Thanks
