I almost bought a Kenwood DDX616 but didn't since the Pioneer deal was screaming. I'm having a bit of remorse that I didn't though. Hopefully that will pass!

 

Just do what everyone else does... ship to someone in Seattle and then have it re-shipped... I practically do that for a living

Well I got it installed yesterday and it's awesome. However I don't think I have the dimmer wire hooked right because it doesn't dim with the rest of the instrument lights.

I think I'm having the same issue. It's super bright at night and quite bothersome after you've had a few. LOL. It's ok..just hit the MODE button to turn it off.

 

Well I'm going to go back in this week and try to fix the dimmer issue. My old 1998 CD Deck dimmed fine.

Also, I'm going to hack up my double din faceplate to get it to fit right. The inside corners are more rounded and the P4200DVD is more square. So I figure I'll do some filing with my dremel, fix the dimmer, install the new iPod Video cable and then call it a day!

I love my stereo again. I have been using the 1998 CD Deck all this time and finally got tired of it and decided to make the change and I'm glad I did.

Well I haven't gotten any new pictures because I am not 100% sure if I'm keeping the item. A couple things I don't like is that it will only play DIVX files and not the typical MP4's and also that the bezel doesn't fit around the unit itself.

Anyone know much about the Kenwood DDX-616? I've been eyeing that as a replacement if I send this back to Amazon.
