Overhead navi system?

Do they exist? I know there's overhead consoles, but what about making it a navigation system?

has anyone put any kind of LCD mod on their explorer OHC?

Well, I want to, because there's no other clean place to put an LCD and be able to hide it/remove it.

do you have a indash cd player yet? they sell indash dvd players that popout so they're hidden. Also you can mold a 7 inch screen into the dash.

exactly. The OHC can only hold maybe, a 1DIN CD player, if that....

i don't like the ones that pop out. They block the AC.

7" molded into the dash is fine if I could prevent it from getting stolen, which is why I would prefer a removable one.

Plus... I know absolutely nothing about molding something like that myself. I hardly wanna pay a few hundred or more to have a local body shop do it either.

...maybe I'm too picky.

if its molded in teh dash it wont get stolen man. I mean they could, but it'd be a fight. Means they hafta rip out the dash, which is *kindof* hard.

You sound picky haha. Jus put a damn 7 inch screen in ur passenger visor and put a dvd player somewhere sneaky. Then flip down the visor to watch.

Mold a screen into your radio bezel using some bondo and some bondo/fiberglass. It's not very difficult. After that, make something that covers your screen that you can set up. I made a notepad that hangs in the A/C vents and covers the screen. Also handy if you get pulled over.

Haha. If I knew how to make it and I could cover it up (note the ghetto notebook style), then I would do it, but I don't have those skills.

Keep a look out on here over the next few weeks. My new screen just came in today, I'll have lots of pictures up as I'm going through the molding process. I have a feeling there's gonna be alot of trial and error

Alpine, Clarion, & Kenwood make double-din head units with monitors that fit perfectly in the dash. I have the Alpine myself, it looks sweet. Go to www.cardomain.com/ride/2288415 for pics of it.

I understand this, but you must consider the crime rate in Arizona, as I stated before.

Not a good idea unless it can be covered up or removed.

There is alot of room behind the radios in rangers. That being said, talk to your local shop or see if you can do it yourself, about recesing the aftermarket in the dash & taking the face off the factory & putting it in front of the aftermarket when the truck is parked.
