Pioneer + iPhone 3gs

I've got a DEH-P5900iB and my friends old 30GB iPod functions properly but my friends new Nano doesn't. The Nano does everything but charge. My concerns are that the new iPhone I'm getting won't function properly. I read so many threads about "error-a0" and "Airport Mode" and charging issues that I'm overwhelmed. If I have to get a newer head unit then so be it but I'm looking for a cheaper solution. I came across a site a while back that was selling a converter to fix the charging issue but I can't find the dame site now. Input please!!!

Get a new head unit vs. ???

It won't charge on any of the newer headunits. Apple changed the pin-out so the new iPhone and iPhone Touch don't charge for some reason. I think Sosche makes a adapter for it called the PASSport or something like that.

I've read that you can't even control the iPhone \ iPod thru the head unit or remote. True?

Nice find Jason. That's the converter I came across but couldn't find. I'll just have to play around with the phone when I get it and see what problems come up with the current head unit I have. If anything; I'll buy the converter and go from there if need be.

I have a DEH-P6100BT that I purchased about three months ago.
My ipod touch 2nd gen has worked most of the time, occasionally I would plug it in and it wouldnt work.
I just keep my touch in my pocket to play with and I have a 30gb classic for the truck....

If you have a touch ipod with bluetooth, and your Pioneer head unit has bluetooth, you can connect them that way, but you'll need a charger.
