Radio ticking

I get a ticking noise from my radio (cd-6). It is a perfect 60 ticks per minute and sounds like WWV transmissions, but without the announcements. It only occurs on AM and 750kh. It just started recently. That happens to be the freq I listen to the most. It only occurs when the ignition switch is in the run position and does not if the switch is in the ACC position. The radio is connected for SSV. Any ideas?

Have you tried disconnecting the Yeasu from any power source and see if it still happens ?

Ken,
I didn't think that could be the problem as the 7100 is wired direct to the battery. I disconnected it anyway and that didn't help. I wonder if the signal is generated by the OBC or GEM? The CD-6 is connected to the GEM for SSV.

Have you tried removing one fuse at a time from the cab and underhood fuse panels to isolate which circuit could be causing it ?
I'm assuming it's happening with the key in RUN with the engine off.

Haven't done that yet. I will as soon as I can. I think the fist thing I'll do is dissconnect the SSV connection to the GEm unit. I thought it might be the internal clock but it dosen't do it with the key in ACC position.

Problem Resolved???????

Today I discovered the wires from the outside air temp sender to my EATC unit had caught on the steering rod and broken. In order to repair it, I had to pull the radio. When I put it all back together the problem had disappeard! I have no idea why.
