Running wires from glove box to rear license plate for backup camera

I recently had an Android auto compatible head unit installed in my 2003 Ford Ranger. When they installed it they hooked up the wires that run from the head unit to the backup camera and put them in glove box. He told me all I have to do is run the wires to the rear license plate and hook them up to the camera. My question is, how do I do this? Apologies in advance if this is something obvious or a dumb question but I have no idea where to start. Will I have to drill a hole? Any help is appreciated.

I did the exact same thing.

I drilled a hole just behind the anchor of the passenger seat belt, primed and painted it right away, then pushed in a rubber grommet before I ran any wires through it.
