I have the blendmount and I don't remember what I used, but I didn't have to buy anything extra. I want to say the one it comes with worked perfectly fine. It was exactly the right length. I ran it from the mount tucked up in headliner down pillar to OBD port. No slack, just right.

You should be fine. I have a Scanguage and the stock 6 ft. cable provided was enough to mount on the rearview mirror. Was a close fit with maybe a inch or 2 of slack.
