I've seen people put them in the driver side lower corner of their dashboard/window, although you said you don't care for it there. You could make a mount to hang it from your OHC (if you have one). There is lots of "out of the way" places, but the hard part would be mounting it.

P.S. - I'm looking at getting SIRIUS radio this winter (after new deck), are there different amounts of channels you can get or does everyone pay for the same plan and get all the channels? Thanks

I've got the Sportster Replay... same one you've got.. i love the rewind feature... i've got mine wired in so it's constantly on. so.... for example... if im listening to something good on howard stern, i dont have to wait, i can simply turn the truck off.. run in the store or whatever.. come out 10 mins, 20 mins, 2 hours later... hit play, and pick up where i left off and not miss a second... its great! the longest i've left it on was about 3 days.. that was on accident (went to the shore for the weekend and forgot to click it off).. my truck started right up with no hesitation.. im half tempted to see how long it would take to drain my battery, lol... then again... im never away from my truck long enough to find out.

EDIT: oh yeah... about location... i had mine on the dash, in the corner... there are pro's and con's to this...

pro's... it's right there... you can't miss it... it's at your fingertips..

con's... passenger can't exactly see it to easily... during the hot summer days, the suction cup does fail occasionally... and even with the remote, you'll still get people complaining that they can't see the screen easy enough to read, lol.

i recently moved mine down to my floor console (i have an automatic). i took the arm and stuck it in the compartment thing next to the passenger airbag turn off thing... it's going to work perfect there once i finally mount it all the way... for right now i just have it stuffed in there while getting used to the new location, to see if i like it down there or not... so far... so good... so i think i'll be mounting it down in there for good once i get some free time.

is that a piece of tile? It looks cool as long as it stays there. My mount is the double face tape type and has a few ridges on the base so I shove the it under the console and it stays put. I noticed in my picture it wasnt like that. Here is the way I dive with it in a better picture...

I'm chuckling at your screen name, people have always called my ranger the "danger ranger." :p

But to answer your question, when you pay for the subscription, there are a few channels you have to ask for (like playboy, I believe) but you should get all of them. If you are worried about content, most units can block out channels you dont want.

You will be -very- happy with it! I had siruis for a long time and my GF had XM, after a road trip, she was begging me to buy her a siruis unit. She likes it 100000X's better than XM.

I have the Sirius XAct Visor....I have mine mounted to the Ashtray. Since I don't use my ashtray it is no big deal. I drilled holes into the plastic and into the metal of the ashtray and then just but screws into it. The mount is adjustable so I just turned it to where I could see it the best. I then ran the wires back through the ashtray, under the dash and hard wired it in.

My parents did the same thing as you and mounted it on the floor on a piece of plexy glass...works good and doesnt slide anywhere and they drive gravel roads 24/7

I screwed it right to the dash. Hey, making holes in things is my specialty. When I first got the truck, I immediately began drilling the body for antenna mounts, lol. One more reason my neighbors think I'm nuts: "John, isn't that your new truck? Why are you boring holes in it?..."
