i have the amp grounded to my passenger seat bolt with the paint grinded off, is there a better place to ground it at? i played with the rcas and it does it either way, even on the output side of the amp

Check the fuses on the amp. The amp I have running my midranges has two fuses and one was blown and it did the same thing you're describing.

1. Check to see that you have power wire hooked up to power and remote hooked up to remote and not the other way around.
2. If your wires are run underneath the carpet check to see that one of them didn't get smashed by whatever you put in your cab.

make sure you didnt rip/tear/etc the rca wire

your getting noise in the system somewhere, all you did was rehook up the amp, not add anythings?

It sounds to me like a bad head unit. I would say bad amp, however, the amp functions fine until you switch stations or songs. Is the head unit a cheap walmart one as well?
