stock deck questions

so long story short, i bought a new deck, it was really loud for the first 15 minutes it was, then i went inside, slept, and it's not very loud now. it has an option for if you have stock speakers, to turn the amp gain down, so it doesn't blow them... it is so quiet that when i do this, and it is all the way up, i can still have a conversation without really raising my voice, in fact, when i was driving home from work, i turned it down to that point, because i had a headache...

so my question is, what is the output of the stock deck? per channel, just so i can compare how loud it should be to how loud the old one is... the new one is 20rms (50peakx4)

anyone think of any reason that it might have gotten quieter overnight? even with the stereo on high power, and cranked all the way up, i can talk to someone else, and hear everything they say, without them yelling or me struggling...

My Avic has that same output and when I have it turned all the way up with stock speakers there is no way I can have a conversation. Sounds like a setting is messed up.
