Icon5 subs and aftermarket hu

hows it goin ranger fam?! Here is my question: I like the factory amp/sub in the 04 edge supercab i just bought but i need more power without losing this setup. If I buy the correct wire harness I should be able to use the amp/sub still right?? also does anyone have any diagrams for a sub box for 2-12" without losing either one of the jump seats and it be removable?? i have a kid and dont want to lose one as i have another one on the way in about a week and will eventually have to use both. any help appreciated and btw love the site!!!

I have 1-12 ans had t remove the jump seat on the driver's side to get more room for the occasional 3rd person in the passenger's side jump seat. It can be done but Probably not with 2-12s, maybe 2-10s or 1-12 will be better. No need to blow of the newest little one's ears at a young age, lol. A blow through is always an option too.

Sounds like he wants a simple box then, but adding handles like from real sound equipment will help make it more "portable" an amp under the seat and some banana clips instead of bare wire in spring loaded clips might make it easier too.

if you dont have a 4 door its gonna be difficult, i have 2 10s in a ported box in my 86 and with 2 doors you need 2 people + alot of swearing to remove it...

its gunna be a ***** to get 2 12's in a ranger and you will probly loose the 8 inch in the center. the amp n sub has a separate harness that youd have to splice n cut, but if your gunna have 2 12's its gunna drown it out anyway.

I think this setup is 2 10s but you can still seat people in the back.

ive got a great down firing box for two 12's but theres no way you will save the jump seats. infact i have to take the passenger seat out just to get that box in there. i dont thinks thats possible unless u got two seperate boxes. i know MTX has really nice enclosures that are made for each car and will fit snug.

heres my set up, its only 1 10" sub, but its plenty of bass. I was after more of a high quality sound, instead of just bass. I have infinity kappa 2 way speakers in all 4 doors as well.

I built it. Anything that looks halfway decent is gonna have to be custom built.

its not too hard either. I have absolutely no carpentry skills either. all you need is some MDF, a sawsall or skill saw, and a basic idea of what you want. my box is attached to where the jump seat bolted down. i basically took the seat and jack stand out and built the box into the space i had.

Try and email the guy. Don't PM him since he isn't an active member here anymore.

And for the record:
Two RF 8" Punch Subs
RF P325.1 amp

most of these setups appear to be sealed though, if you want good sound from your subs the only was to go is ported

but it sounds off at certain hertz the port has to be tuned to a single hert..

i had mine ported but it would only sound good at like 32 hertz everything else sounded off a tennis ball and super glue fixed that.

My system isn't ported. I listen to a lot of rock so I want it to sound clean. Even when I play rap it bumps pretty good and it's only one 12. I really don't care that it doesn't vibrate the car next to me. I like hearing and I don't show off.
