Tremor radio wireing

I have a 2002 ford ranger tremor with the stock pioneer radio. I wanted to know if anyone knew how to put in a pioneer premere radio in it and still use the tremor amplified sound system. I want a new head unit so i can have a remote and play MP3 Cd's. Thanks for all of the help.

To put it simply, your best bet is to start over with a new system. The tremor has its own wiring system. Have you taken out the HU and looked at the wiring? the system does not allow for any rca`s to plug the amp into a new Deck. The only option i see and i may be wrong, but ford in 04 changed the tremor HU to a 6cd mp3. these pop up from time to time on ebay and you may be able to go that rought.

I dont have the wiring manual for a 02 but if you found the remote wire and hi/lo converter I am sure it could be done.

probably would be easier to just start over then.....buy an MP3 cd player, then rip out the stock Tremor stereo system and sell it.....

you bought a truck that was ment for people who hated building there own audio set ups. you have to 100% gut everything it was never ment to be taken out or replaced with anything

I have the same set up. You can change the head unit in the 2002 Tremor. You have to get help from a good audio shop. The all connections on the back if the radio are standard Ford Connections. PIE makes some adpaters for line in as well as for converting the different connectors to the Ford Style. It is not easy but doable and expensive.

The new guy's got the idea, I just don't think that is the one he needs.
they do make special harnesses for this situation you need to look for a "pioneer" or "premium" system ranger harness. its different from the normal non-premium system.

just noticed the post date.. oh well ill leave my reply since someone might search for this later.
