well it was different than my 93, Ford put a hook back there so it wouldn't work... this was my plan b location, I want to go back and add those insulators behind the 6x8s b/c I did see a lil rain water in the door, no rust on the speakers or anything tho :-) funny my stock speakers look like the pioneers I put in my old ranger...

yup bolt that sucker down... less rattling and make sure when you wire them up to use quick disconnects so if you ever need the panel off... I will be doing that next time...
The best placement is on the dash facing the window, near the defroster vent that faces the side windows. I do have my MBQuart tweeters on the door almost just behind the side mirror but it is not a perfect placement but it works, and now I don't want to move them and leave a hole in my door.
They work best on the dash because they do NOT scream in your face. You want the sound from all of the speakers to be the same distance from your ears or it will not sound right. You probably want to adjust the "high" or "treble" down on the stereo for them to sound right too.
Also on the dash, there is nothing in the way to block their sound. With mine on the doors, the steering column blocks the sound to the passenger seat as well as some sound to the driver's ears.
Try wiring them up and just taping the tweeters up at the dash or door or wherever you want and listen to different types of songs at each location. I bet they sound best at the dash and you'll decide to put them there. Also, move and sit in the center and passenger side of the truck when trying out each location. I'm mad that I didn't do this when installing mine. haha

sounds much better, these have a better crossover system, now the 6"x8" are putting out mid and bass and the tweet is handling the highs, just like I wanted :-)
Quality was much better with this kit, the bracket allows you to tilt the tweets to get better sound staging...
