ok...but I ride with canine, nuff said. We look for suspisious vehicles and search them.

And FYI most people that get out of the car are immidiateley ordered to get back in. If they don't comply...not too good for them. And most the time they are asses when they do that.

Basically your attitude depends weather you get a traffic violation or not. If your nice and polite and don't offend me...your straight, your not getting a ticket. Thats not what we look for...we look for guns, drugs, and large amounts of money.

If a police officer asks you to see the inside of your vehicle you can refuse. But they can visually check (without opening doors, trunk, etc.) inside the vehicle and if they see anything that would REMOTELY lead them to believe they have enough probable cause they WILL conduct search. Especially if you have a car with "candy paint and 20's"

I always deny consent (if I haven't already been given professional courtisy...or it is overlooked). There is no reason for me to give up my private vehicle for search. It's not happening. I always ask for the district sergeant and canine. I have nothing to hide. I am very polite.

It's just covering your own ***...there are cops who obey the law, and those who don't. And I don't need a dime bag of marijuana planted in my truck...ain't gonna happen.

Most people don't know their rights anyways. And if they do, they don't enforce them because they are nervous. But, by my experience, just be polite...I had a 86 2 door caprice that HAD 22's (sold them for another car) and I got pulled over quite frequently. Wasn't even involved with the police department then. I did not get 1 ticket in the 14 times being pulled over. I just was very polite, respectful, and never did anything stupid. Never carried marijuana with me, never drank/drive, never had more than 1 person in my car (PC can be suspision of gang activity/parephenilia/under influence b/c you have 4 ppl in your car) etc. It's called preventative action. Yes I did speed, I got trapped doing 92 in a 65...FHP got me...I got let off. The cop asked for my dl, ins, reg and I handed it to him. He asked why I was speeding, I said no reason, just trying to get home. He said ok, went to his car, 28-29...ran my dl in the comp, told me I was free to go. He told me I was very cooperative and polite. True story. I bet it doesn't happen to everyone, but your demeanor plays a huge part in weather your getting a ticket or not.

And FYI, if you are wearing an oversized shirt and your pants are hanging off your *** and you LOOK either intoxicated or funny to me...your being asked to step out of the car and the handler i ride with WILL conduct a perimeter search around your car. (thats a search around the outside) This is for both my safety and the persons. I don't take any chances, thats how I was trained.
