Depends on the gauge of wiring. I used 4 gauge wire and had to widen that hole out a bit. But come to think of it, my grommet was more below the gas pedal.
Just remember to shield the power wire from any metal. Over time, tiny vibrations will eventually cut through the insulation, and once that happens, I hope you got a fuse on it!

thanks guys, unfortunatly i dont think im going to be using the hole...id have power wire for amp, wires for cb, and wires for off road lights all going through that little hole...and i dont wanna do that...i think im just going to run my wires under the carpet to a hole in the ext. cab and run them in the frame rails inside of some hose or tubing...thanks for the quick response guys!

im trying to think where exactly i ran my power wire when i did my system a month or so ago.. if i remember correctly, i ended up drilling thru the fire wall (a couple inches past where the steering wheel column goes thru the firewall, towards the center of the engine bay) because i wasnt able to get the size wire i needed thru that grommet they're talking about, while being about to bend to where i needed it, etc... I've got 0 gauge wire running thru my cab now to the back deck i built.. the firewall hole i had to make was the easiest way to go for me cause that size wire is stubbern and difficult to bend.
I have a 99, best way to do it, find the hood release cable, there is a grommet that is about 2" in diamater, just pull one of the sides off and run it through. I'v got tons of wires going through there and there is still room for more.
