whitch sub should i get out of these choices

i am looking to upgrade my system for my truck. i was looking on getting some kickers. first one is Kicker CompVT 07CVT122. its a 12 inch pushing 400rms and 800 max power. second is Kicker CompVR 07CVR124. same power but i guess it takes up more room then the first one that is a shallow sub. would a shallow sub be the same loudness then the 2 one? it it better to get a 4 ohm or a 2 ohm sub. the first one is 169 the 2 one is 149 in price. any other questions just ask ill try to answer the best i can. thanks for the options in advance.

I have a CVR12 2ohm.....mated to a 400.1 Kicker amp.....sounds great....not too much, but not too little. I love it. It's a '05 model, and has been "kickin' " great since then.

you are definitely going in the right direction. the shallow mount is great especially if you have a single cab. I always recommend going with a MTX Thunderform. Perfect fit but it will only house 1 10" for the regular cab and 2 10's for the extended so it isn't a favorite choice for most. Not to mention that it can get pricey. All depends on how loud you want to be.

if you have an extended cab you should probably get the cvr since you have the space cuz you might regret going with the shallow mount when you had the space to go bigger
