Wiring up front speakers (need diagram)
I've got two bare wires coming from my radio and the stock front speakers have a special connector for input. I can just solder the wires onto the speaker, but I don't know which wire goes where on the speaker. The connector isn't marked. Can anyone help?

For the Front Right Speaker. If the adapter wire is White and Light Green, that side is Positive. For the front Left Speaker, if the adapter that is hooked up and whatever side the orange/light green one is on is the positive meanin the other side is the negative. The diagram that I linked you to tells you. For the rear right speaker the side that has the Orange/Red wire going into it is the Positive side, the other side is the negative. For the Rear left speaker, the green/light blue wire that is goiing to whichever side is goin to the be the positive, and the other side is goin to be the negative.

The connector is mounted to the side of the speaker. The only wires coming out of it are the ones from the back of it to the speaker cone.

The stock wires have a plug on the end of them, this plug then plugs into a plug on the side of the speaker so theres no wiring or soldering to be done. I don't have the plug that sits on the wires coming out of the radio, instead I just have bare leads so I am going to solder the leads to the speaker and bypass the connector all together.

Okay, So At the Speaker... You have those plastic connectors that go from the head unit to the Plastic connectors which hook up to the speakers. Just Cut the plastic crap off and than you will have those exposed wires. Than you can follow the color coding that I originally gave you at the beginning and just solder those colors onto the new speakers.

I'm hooking up the stock speakers though. That is the problem!

The connector that was on there originally. Put the connector back on and than match the color codes. Thats all you will have to do, once you put the connector back on, just remember which side the wires go on. It has become much more complicated than it really is. Once you know what side the wires go on cause the connector, cut them and solder and your done.

I don't have that connector though, I wouldn't have even asked this question if I did. They took it off and threw it away when they installed the old speakers.

You said at the beginning you had a connector, it just wasn't marked. Do this, hook them the wires up to the speaker, one way or another and crank it, do it both ways and whichever has the best handling is the proper way. Whichever distorts sooner is the wrong way. Thats about all I can say.
