yet another box design idea

ok, now that i've had the sub in for a couple weeks, i've cranked it up some, and its pretty loud, specially with it right behind me. Im wondering if I should join the 2 boxes together, and have one big box, probably would be around 1.3 cubic feet air space then. Would this make the bass deeper or what? One sub seem like it will be enough.......some songs have a vibrating type bass, and its hard to have the amp turned up b/c of that, cause the bass transfers through the seat and its really loud in my ears. I even thought about putting the sub on the passenger side, so I can really crank the amp up. What do ya'll think?

Well, at this point, my plan is to get a sheet of 3/4" MDF, and build a box for one sub.....it will have about 1.3 cubic feet of airspace. (the sub recommends 0.66-1.0 cubic feet. Im going to put the sub on the passenger side so I can crank the amp way up and take advantage of its power, and so I can move my seat back a little more for more leg room. It should hit deeper with that much airspace.

I have a regular cab. The only way I could get that much cu. ft. in it was if I cut a hole in the back of the cab and ran the box into the bed. Even if I ran the box all the way across the back wall behind the seat, i'd still only have about 1.6 cu. ft. using 3/4 MDF, and then I wouldn't have anywhere to put the amp.

I have a reg cab also. You can get alot of airspace. Turning up the gain is not a no no as long as you keep it in reason.

yall must be short because i have to put my box behind my passenger seat. My drivers seat is pushed all the way back and my freaking knee still hits the turn signal lever when i push the clutch in and out to shift

Im 5' 10" and my knees practically touch the lower dash peice, specially if I dont sit up straight in the seat. And, occasionally, my knee bumps the turn signal lever. Thats the other reason Im moving the sub to the passenger side.......so I can move the seat back a little more and not have to worry about the seat effecting the subs movement.

my brother had a Ranger a few years ago, and he is about your height. He had it for about a year and sold it and got a jeep.
