Wax off of Flares

I just bought my truck and the car lot detailed it and got all kinds of wax on the flares which of couse gave it the white stains.
I tried 409, Mean Green, Wheel Cleaner, and Mother Back to Black and its still there. The Back to Black covered it up 50% but I want the wax removed. Is there anything that will take this wax off or does it take a good hour of scrubbing with a toothbrush on it?

If it is too much of a pain I will just paint all the moldings with grey metallic paint.

you can use a regular pencil eraser, or use some paint thinner carefully and it should come right off

Dude (or Lady, lol) -- whereabouts in Central PA? We're coming up to Centralia and St. Clair (just north of Pottsville) for an offroading meet next weekend. Don't know where you are relative to that, but come out and meet us if you can. Should be a half dozen or more people from this board that are fairly local meeting out there for a day trip.

We just did a weekend trip in October.

Wurth Rubber Care is what you need. I found out about it from a buddy that owns a body shop. It won't just cover it up, it WILL actually remove it.

Take an old toothbrush and cut the bristles down on it so they're 1/2 length or a little shorter and try that.

if they buffed it, and hit it with the wheel, it may be burn marks[i've done it a few times]. The only way to fix that, is to paint them.
All of the above tricks should work, i'd try to avoid laquer thinner though, as it might make it look lighter then the rest. Just make sure you dilute the degreaser with warm to hot water. Then just scrub 'um up, and hose off.

thats what i use.. if you go to the dollar store and look around i found a pack of three brushes.. a bit bigger than a tooth brush, but not much... it was a 3 pack, hard nylon brush, brass bristle brush, and and steel one...

i use the nylon one and assuming a brushing motion is front to back or side to side... i do a up and down motion, like stabing with the bristles.. it seems to work really well... and it works every where.. in small gaps, around emblems, the door handles, around the locks... give it a try...

Guys....I never got my wax stains of my flares from the detail shop....That's why I'm in the midst of painting my flares black or bedliner in a can.
