Glass cleaner, “Water spots”, mineral deposits, Soft Scrub
There’s a guy advertising on Instagram discounted from $69 to $39 16 ounces glass cleaner that removes “ water spots “, it’s also good on your shower doors! I watched the video, the guy is rubbing it in with his finger as a demonstration. First of all I thought it was BS and then it slowly started to dawn on me that maybe I could try Soft Scrub because it looks like the same exact product/process. I’ve used Windex over and over again and I can see, if you look at it at a certain angle while it’s drying, there is some sort of mineral deposit still on the glass that Windex doesn’t touch. Kind of drives me nuts. I tried supermarket Soft Scrub on a small area, actually I’m installing a dash cam and I wanted the glass to be perfectly clean for the camera but also for the adhesive to stick to. To me it seemed like it works fantastically well. You can see the very obvious difference in the way the water sheets off the glass when you rinse it on the areas that were treated, both inside and out. I don’t know if this is common knowledge among auto detailers but when I saw that guy’s ad for $39 (and it’s discounted from $69!) for 16 ounces when you could buy Soft Scrub at 36 ounces for $4.17 at any supermarket I kind of freaked out a little. I was worried about the Soft Scrub creating microscopic scratches but it really doesn’t look like it has, really, at all. The glass is shockingly clean (like it’s not there). This is just the first attempt, I don’t know how it’s gonna work in the long term but I wanted to get it out there just in case it does work. Don’t sue me if this is a disastrously bad idea and you have to replace all of your glass because of unforeseen negative consequences! I really think what this guy is selling is just repackaged rebranded industrial grade Soft Scrub that comes in 55 gallon barrels, he’s got rave reviews and from my experience it really does work incredibly well. I’ve been through this before, frustrated doing research on the Internet on the best way to clean glass, I think Kris Fix has a video about using a Magic Eraser, etc. The reviews and the comments for his product guys are commenting on their frustration getting their glass perfectly clean, vinegar etc. when I saw the advertising video for this product I was going to try some LimeAway/CLR on microfiber cloth, (not spray it on the glass for fear of overspray) but then I realized what he was using looked an awful lot like Soft Scrub. The guy is a huckster, I feel sorry for people to pay $36 for a small container of Soft Scrub.

I have been using that blue stuff, um...Rain X inside and out on all the cars, and the windows of the house, again, inside and out.
I swear I muffed up at first but I found its almost impossible no matter what it looks like. Just a damp rag and a micro cloth to buff dry. Done.
It's a great time saver!
