old dog SMELL

I bought my truck used, in great condition. I even have 3 small long haired dogs that go everywhere with me, but.............whoever previously had the truck, had an old dog, that was apparently NEVER bathed. Or so the truck smells. I keep my dogs clean, strong odors are hard on my allergies. So...........how do you get the stink of ancient unwashed dog out of truck? Windows are open about 10 hours out of the day, but when i am at the job, that don't work. Air fresheners are OUT with my allergies. Can you steam clean with the electronics under the seat? Any and all bright ideas would be gratefully accepted!

I would think if you pulled the harnesses out of the seat controls and gave everything a real good long drying period, it wont be a problem to steam clean. FWIW, my truck smelled like greasy fast food and bait when i got it. I hit it with some turtle wax brand upholstery cleaner i got at advanced auto on sale, worked great.

Arm and Hammer baking soda.
Sprinkle it all over the seat when you get to work , brush it in, and let it sit all day.
Vacuum the seat when you get home , then repeat the next day.

When I first got my ranger, I used my neighbors Hoover Carpet Cleaner machine with the Upholstry adapter with oxy clean cleaner. Smells great! The guy who owned mine before me had a German Shepard so imagine that. If you don't have access to one, go to the dollar store or somewhere and rent one. Definantly worth getting rid of the smell!

Also try boiling a n electric water kettle in the cab to steam it and the head liner and try some white vinegar to neutralize the odour in a spray bottle
