I haven't washed the F150 since I bought it in November and it will be another month or two before it will get washed. I just cant spend money to wash it knowing 10 minutes later it going to be dirty again.

Its all good with the buffer and the right wax!! NO PROB!!
Its a dewalt variable speed buffer. 1000rpm to 3000 rpm. the wax i use is a 3M wax that i have to order through a company. You MIGHT be able to buy through a auto paint store or something not sure though. It depends on how bad the paint is i usually start with the 308 which is heavy compound then step it down to a 208 that is a med compond polish then to 108 that is a polish. I usually start with a wool pad then to a green foam then blue foam. Like i said though it just depends on the condition of the paint. That took me about 4-5 hrs and i went over about 12 times steppin it down each time to finally polish and wax.
I ask because I used to be a detailer at a local detail shop and was wondering what your method was... we always used meguairs and the g100's man we would literally bring the mirror back from the dead... we would save guys thousands of dollars by instead of getting the car repainted we would offer them a demo like do a quarter panel and let the owner decide what to do next.. lol... most of the single stage painted cars from the 40's-60's you can easily bring back the shine.... but looks really good from the pictures, I know that Fords paint is typically extremely hard and once a swirl or small scratch gets in there is near impossible to get it out even when using a professional line of products like that I use on my own truck

lol I hear you on that one, I was always so afraid to color sand the paint cause I knew that i would over work the paint down to the primer lol. I cant wait till it gets warmer so I can finally make my red shine like a ruby
