2004 2.3L, jerky and stumbles on acceleration

The engine idled smoothly and was smooth under light acceleration, but under hard acceleration there was a jumpy, jerky and bogged acceleration. No codes were present so it was a guessing game. Fuel filter first, no. Then, new MAF and that didn't fix it. Round three was new coil pack, new wires and OE Motorcraft plugs. Runs fine now. before, I was using Autozone's Autolite 2x platinum plugs and when I took them out, they looked burnt. It could have been bad wires or coil pack and bad plugs, but not sure. I would have expected a problem in the ignition system to be felt throughout the rpm range but it only bogged under load. I'm putting this out there for those who've got this problem and don't wanna pay a mechanic. This is one possibility.

Glad you got it fixed. The OEM plugs in our 2.3l Duratec's are Ngk ITR5F13 Laser Iridium Spark Plug. I think the problem with the Autolight double paltinum's is they are not a fine wire style plug.Im running them but can tell a difference in idle.
