Auto Trans. jerky

Auto Trans. jerky
Have an '02 Ranger with the 4.0 liter. When ever I accelerate from a complete stop there is an ever so slight jerky feel almost like the rear wheels are jumping for a split second. Again, this only occurs after a complete stop. I know I saw some suggestions on here before but I can't seem to find them at the moment. Can anyone help?
Thanks

Do you have a one piece 4" aluminum driveshaft, or the two piece with a slip yoke? If you have a slipyoke, that could be where the bump is coming from. When you start moving, there is some axle wrap which causes the yoke to slip, you may just need to grease it. If this is the issue, traction bars also help with the axle wrap.

whether you have a steel or aluminum driveshaft, this is a problem with all 98+ supercab 4x4's. the two piece rear was discontinued in 97 you need to mark it, remove it and clean all the slip shaft grease out and re grease it. you will need a 12pt 12mm socket or wrench to remove the driveshaft
