u-joints

ok i was wondering if any1 has had a problem with there u joints and how many miles were on it when they went out mine was 78,488

I've had them go anywhere between 25K up to 150K . Luck-of-the-draw I guess.

I drive a 94 and i havent had any problems i still have the original u-joints after 98,000 miles and were i live uses salt in the winter

My 2000 has 130,000 and still has the orginal ones on it.

The front U-joint on my 04 went out a couple months ago at about 50k. In another thread I posted some pictures of it.

Just remember to replace both at the same time while the driveshaft is out, you'll thank yourself.

u had to change mine out after i broke my rear yoke...and had to get a drive shaft...but that was at 110XXX miles...my step dads f150 has 210XXX miles and still has the factory u joints and they are fine...even factory clutch

Just changed mine at 84,000 and the rear one was bad, no needles or grease. I dont know when they started to go bad. maybe 60,000

About ready to change my rear at the rear pinion @ about 83k ish.

Driving style/heavy loads ect. affect the life. My dads '94 got changed @ about 160K though the truck often towed more than it should have.
My '95 still has the original u joints, and clutch for that matter and has 200K
I have been thinking of replacing them but....
