I just bought a 2003 Ranger 4 cyl last week. It was running pretty good but now it idles awful. It is throwing a lot of codes.

I am guessin vacuum leak since there are so many codes? Are there any common problems with this engine?

air and fuel metering:
P0171 System too Lean (Bank 1)

ignition:
P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P0301 Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected
P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected
P0316 Misfire detected within first 1000 revolutions since start up

air metering:
P2004 Intake manifold control stuck open
P2195 Lack of HO2S-11 switch-sensor indicates lean

 

Well I replaced all the plugs, wires, and fuel filter. Still have the problem. It is like it is searching for the idle. If I come to a stop after getting off the highway it takes a few seconds to rev down to idle and then I get the idle problem.
I'll start looking for a vacumm leak tomorrow.

 

Found the problem. Intake leak on cylinder 1. Runs like a champ now. I had to plug one port though. Anybody know where this hose goes? Will post pic.
