Misfire at idle and under load in drive foot on brake
Misfire at idle and under load in drive foot on brake
2009 Ranger XL at idle and slightly off idle. Has a dead Misfire or acts like a miss fire. My scanner live data picks up no codes and no mis fire detected. Did a wire test. Pulled off each plug while engine running safely with proper tools. No change all cyl firing properly. Maybe intake leak. Spray all around intake manifold. Engine didn’t race up on idle. Also vehicle has need coil pack and wires.
Open to any ideas or if anyone has come across similar running complaints. Thanks Guido

If you mean it NEEDS those, I'd do that first. If you mean it already has new ones, then I'd....
Well.... I'm just a begginer hack so don't take this to the bank because I might be talking smack but FWIW I'd do the usual.....
Check for tight fitting gas cap, verify fuel pressure at rail, check air filter, Clean MASS sensor and throttle body. If old replace PCV valve and its hose;
If that didn't do it, I'd use my DIY smoke machine to check intake side and also EVAP system for vac leaks. Verify EVAP valves working.
If that still didn't do it, I'd come back here reporting what I'd done and asking for ideas, and I'd be wondering if I might have a cylinder head issue like a bent valve stem or something.
Happy to be laughed at if anyone thinks that was bad advice.

Stumbles slight misfire off idle
So Valve cover gasket oring seals were leaking. So I removed intake manifold. New seals new valve cover gasket new plugs new wires new coil. Compression good 140-150 all cyl/ pressure at rail good 40-50 psi
Runs smooth just hesitates and stumbles off idle. But when driving it it’s ok still smooth but acts like it’s running on 3 cyl. Could be issue with PCM I tried another Mass airflow meter. No change cleaned Idle Air valve. It’s not the end of the world. The truck doesn’t see city streets. It’s a yard truck for a big Port terminal. I’m done with this 😂
