hey guys I have a 03 fx4 the front hubs wont ock in you can hear the transfercase lock in but still only rear wheels spin any ideas

 

Sounds like your transfer case might not be engaging 4wd. 01+ have live axles, which means no hubs. The front wheels are always locked to the axle. If you are sure the transfer case is engaged into 4wd then your front differential could be blown. Do you have the electric or manual transfer case? Does your 4wd light come on and on solid not flashing? If you have the electric transfer case they are known to have shift motor problems. You could also be hearing the 4x4 module relays which control the shift motor and not the actual transfer case locking.

its electric the lights come on and stay on when I put it in 4x4 it seems to change the gearing like its in 4x4 but only the back tires spin

 

and when I put it in 4 low the other day when I was looking at it I took it out of 4 low and tried real quick put it in gear and 4 low grinded so the tranfercase is working
