1979 dana 44 hp question

this is the axle that has the molded wedges. has anyone heard of or tried rounding the wedges off smooth?

this is what the wedges look like

and here is what they look like inside

it seems like its possible to cut the wedges off then grind it so its round. that leaves the question, will it be strong enough?

ideas? thoughts?

The wedges are hollow. You can not make them round.

if you are cutting off the Cs why not just take it some where and have it retubed. although the drivers side is built into the housing. personally id just run the radius arms on that axle or get a different one. D44s are a dime a dozen.
